About Taytay Tiangge

Since the Spanish era, Taytayenos have been skilled in tailoring and woodworking. Women later joined the trade, sewing gowns from home to earn income. Wealthier families supported the craft with equipment, helping expand sales to areas like Pasig and Divisoria. This growth led to the official launch of Taytay’s Tiangge bazaar in 2008 (Elizaga, 2024).
